Confirm from votes and many recent messages, as follows.
* cwchia: Windows XP SP1 and OOo does not work with UNC paths, but mapped drives
work
* StuartGMC: Windows XP SP2 and OOo 2 does not work with UNC paths (a bit
unclear).
