Here are a lot of questions regarding why this function has not already been
integrated into the user interface.

I was able to change the core to support a definable resolution, but each change
within the UI requires a specification and due to limited resources I was not
able to create one. We have also take into account that each filter is having
its own user interface and therefore it requires much work to implement this
feature.

So I would prefer a more general solution, maybe a two tabbed dialog where the
first tab  provides general functionality, and a second tab providing the filter
dependent settings, such as compression, interlace and or a preview graphic.
This also ensures that the graphic filter UI is getting a well-defined look &
feel regardless of which filter is used.

Anybody can help by providing proposals or by working out the full
specification, which is half of the work.

Till then the only way to create bitmaps with definable resolution is to use the
macro Bryan mentioned. I initially created this macro to bypass the resolution
problem, the macro can also be found on:
