------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Feb 4 10:34:45 -0800 2005 ------- I was able to replicate the bug with Open Office 1.1 on a Linux OS and with Open Office 1.4 on a Windows XP OS. I did some follow-up tests with a variety of JPEG and PNG images. It appears that in most cases the quality of an image in an MS Word file is not compromised when the file is opened with Open Office. It also appears that the bug is not specific to the image provided by ragnarkum, as I came across other images where the quality was compromised. Attached is a sample image which can be used to replicate the bug. The image is blurred when a MS Word document containing it is opened with Open Office. The quality is further compromised when the document is exported as PDF from Open Office. On testing how this bug effects printing I found that in all the cases when the image quality is compromised on opening the Word document with Open Office, the printing of the file opened in Open Office is also effected.
