cannot reproduce either the crash nor the disabled resize controls.
Regarding the resize: make sure you don't have checked [x] protect size in the
additional settings of the frame.
Without a reproducible way to replicate the erroneous behaviour we unfortunately
cannot do much about it. Even more so since you're not using "vanilla" OOo but a
version of your distribution..
Thank you for the report though. Feel free to reopen this issue when you can
give more hints to reproduce this problem.
