Prev described in issue 19492, much progress since then, but it is still very
difficult to 
1. reformat a paragraph that has been broken into lines by a previous
application (reform the paragraph by removing the new line characters). The
method described works but is clumsy. The 'if greater than 50%' is quite 
cryptic.
2. find and replace a single new line with something (e.g. two new lines).
