But still, why did Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8, based on NetBeans 4.1 if I'm
not mistaken, just open something in Mozilla? This should be relatively easy to
check; maybe I'll try to get the NetBeans sources and find out myself one of
these days. Another one is Apple QuickTime Player (although the same company's
iTunes program uses MS IE).
A quick idea: write an HTML file to local storage with a redirect to the
intended URL, and then open that file (this way the .html association is used,
not the http URL association, if that makes any sense).
