------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Dec 10 11:11:27 -0800 2005 ------- 1. Sorry... PITA = Pain In The Ass = What this situation would be to us, but new users or new to Oo would likely find a nasty thing to find out. 2. Agreed. If this J2SE Runtime situation of older version that ships with Oo 2.01x overwriting even a newer J2SE Runtime installtion comes from Sun's Installer, yes, I can see to "blame Sun". HOWEVER, the end-user will blame OpenOffice.org / OpenSource for the problem, and almost never blame Sun. 3. << @ mh: Who has decided to add java without being dislayed in the installation modules? At least it should be deselectable or it leads to this described behaviour. >> I would agree: a. This J2SE situation SHOULD be user selectable / deselectable, b. And at least the Oo Installer should advise the end-user a little bit about what ramifications having or not having the newest J2SE installed might mean to them. Don't have to write a book for them, but at least a little short advisory.
