------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 18 15:23:54 -0800 2005 ------- I tested a bit more and it looks as if Excel2000 thinks the sheet is much bigger than OOo thinks it is. I isolated the problem to one sheet in the document, which I will upload. When I open the .ods file in OOo Calc and press the Ctrl-End key combination in sheet Wk40, the active cell becomes O49. When I save the OOo Calc document in Excel97/2000/XP format and open that file in Excel2000 and press the Ctrl-End key combination in wheet Wk50, the active cell becomes IV31993. So the problem seems to be that OOo writes in the .xls file that there is something in cell IV31993. If, in OOo, I delete all columns after column O and all rows after row 49 and save that as an Excel97/2000/XP file, pressing Ctrl-End in Excel2000 maken cell O49 the active cell. I think this explains the large file size and the Excel error message saying that it's out of memory. Appearently Excel has a problem loading 60 sheets containing so many columns and rows. The xls file size *without* the columns and rows removed is 673 KB. The xls file size *with* the columns and rows removed is 37,5 KB. cheers Bart. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
