To summarize, some fonts (Times, Palatino) are not antialiased, and your problem
looks like a duplicate of issue 57530. Therefore, I am closing this issue.
You also mentioned a cursor focus problem, but according to Basic Rules <
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#one_per_issue >, but we
can only accept one problem per issue.
