A table at the very top of a document is very common, e.g. invoices. This make bad user experience because they don't know why they can't 'select all' or drag to select the whole document (an error message when they try to do so would help). And there's no way they can fix the situation. After putting that table there, they can't insert a paragraph before it. We know you have to fix it some day. Please make a decision about it and set a target for it.
