SBA: Some things worth to check if anyone runs into this again:
(1) Does a focus change help (another application, other document, OOo menu) and
back into document)?
(2) Is it only a PAINT ERROR (selection stays white) - try to copy and paste
elsewhere to check?
(3) Does <SHIFT>+<ARROW keys> or <CTRL>+A work (instead of mouse selection)?
