2005 -------
I found a strange problem : 
 * create a new document in Writer
 * insert a table (whatever size)
 * write in the first cell "11.1" (without the ") and hit Enter
 * the result I see is that the 11.1 turns to 11/01/05
 * when I check Format/Numberformat then it has turned to "date" !!! whereas
inthe other yet empty cells it is text

I have searched for some options that turn automatically numbers into dates but
haven't found anything.
What I described above also happend if I edit an already created document with a
table full of numbers in it. I change one to 11.1 or something similar and it
turns into a date
