2006 -------
I checked the remote X connection with two PCs, #1 being a Athlon64 3700 with
SuSE Linux 10.0 and #2 being a Intel Pentium II 450 with SuSE Linux 9.2, a
10-Mbit LAN connection and OOo 2.0.1.
X-Server was running on #1, login to #2 was made with secure shell including
X-forwarding (ssh -X), OOo was then started on #2.
After startup was finished, scrolling and editing (e.g. typing characters) was
like it could be expected from a Pentium 450, there was absolutely no time lag
of > 1 sec when hitting a key as mentioned by the author.
Thus, this issue will be closed.
