These file definitely don't belong there. That causes probably the problem but i have no idea how this can happen because the example files are specified explicitly. And of course from where comes the .svn entries. Do you have a separate source code control system? If yes, why and then you can patch it in your env but not in the global cvs. I would say the problem is on your side in your environment.
