------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 18 08:11:45 -0800 2006 ------- After opening a Word document and saving it the first time, OpenOffice opens a dialog: "This document may contain formating content that can not be saved in Microsoft Word ... file format. Do you want to save the document in this format anyway?" and continuous: - Click 'YES' to save in Microsoft Word 97 ... - Click 'NO' to use the latest OpenOffice ... Every time I get to this dialog I have to THINK (!) what I'm supposed to do! To improve the usability on this issue I propose to put a short description of the problem on top but do NOT ask a YES or NO question! Put two radio buttons in the middle: - save in Microsoft Word .. [default] - save in .. format and two buttons on the bottom: [ SAVE ] [ CANCEL ] with Save as default so I can hit ENTER. It is a big usability issue to avoid forcing the user to think about such little things. The radio button is an perfect optical indicator for the chosen format. and would provide the same function but with a graphical solution. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
