As you pointed out, it works with other processors, therefore it's a problem is
probably the used Xalan 2.6.0.
Found a lately fixed issue in Xalan 2.7.0 with this topic:
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=27516

Unfortunatley was the update to 2.7.0 to late for an exchange in OOo2.0 /
StarOffice8.
Therefore going to update the existing version of Xalan ASAP in StarOffice 8.
(Changed target to OOo 2.0.3).

Heard from different sides, that 2.7.0 is one of the best versions ever.

Only downside: Apache made the JARs more modular and added a serializer.jar,
containing the Serializer component of Xalan-Java.
Now anybody already using it, will have to add a new JAR to their exisiting
classpath.
But I will grep through the sources and adapt usages to avoid regression. Aside
of this going to writing a change-request mail.
