Problem is still persisting. I am thinking this unpaking is looking for an RPM
package that seems to be missing from /var/lib/rpm

The directory is there. The error is the same whether I answer "yes" or "no."

Should I be just taking the whole snarled mess to a debian or Ubuntu Forum?
