------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jan 27 13:13:23 -0800 2006 ------- I replicated the error on a kernel 2.4.31 Red Hat machine without having to type any characters using the following steps 1- Open new empty presentation 2- On the first page when in typing mode press enter 4 times 3- Switch numbering on - It is going to start from 5 if number format is chosen - It is going to start from E if alphabetic format is chosen It seems that the numbering assigns numbers to elements that are their actual line number in the document counting from the top of the text area.
