------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 31 18:52:38 -0800 2006 ------- Export to PDF ignores characters with umlauts for some fonts that do have umlaut characters present; e.g. Nimbus doesn't work, Times does (happens to be a generic PDF font, too). Setting up a locale with umlauts seems to fix this problem. OO should either warn about problems with saving/exporting, or simply assume a standard iso-8859-1 character set in case of an unset (or 'C') locale. If the user can type umlauts, then it's also fair for her to assume they will be dealt with in a correct manner during save/export. Note that many users might not have a locale set on their system, and exporting spaces instead of characters with umlauts is quite likely the wrong thing to do in any case. Perhaps some improvement in this regard is possible. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
