The work for this feature had already been started. See for example the
specification at
http://specs.openoffice.org/chart/dataselection/FlexibleSourceRangeSelection.sxw.
The problem with this feature is, that the old chart code has come to the end of
its capabilities. So we started to create a new chart to be able to integrated
some important missing features from one of them is this. Creating a complete
new module is a big task and we will not manage it for the next version as far
as we can see. I am sorry about that.
IHA->MMP: Please give this issue to me or BM as we are working on this already.
