It depends on how the date has been defined when the variable has been set.
Th e variable is a number, so 38734 is ok and corresponds to Jan 17, 2006.
31 Dec 1999 is only a sample in the list, it is not intended to be the current
date.
Consequently, 17 Jan 2006 is 38734 formatted with the 31 Dec 1999 date format.
