------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Feb 11 09:20:51 -0800 2005 ------- Saving a large Spreadsheet document from OpenOffice.Org to the OpenDocument Spreadsheet format (.ODS) took 1 min 26 seconds, whereas saving the same document to the Excel 97-2003 format (XLS) took approximately 10 seconds. Since I save my work frequently while making updates, this makes working the native OpenOffice.Org format unworkable for me. The statistics for the document are as follows: Number of Sheets: 7 Number of Cells: 51059 Number of Pages: 1485 I can't attach the original here since it contains personal information throughout, but here's an outline of the characteristics: Frozen panes on each tab with headers (Status, Time, Issue, etc.) Below this are text entries with dates, times, descriptions Some of the cells have large amounts of text (i.e. 500 characters or more) Background color is used on many cells Only one column in the whole doc has a simple formula, and it is in 600 rows tall I would like to be able to test the application with real data, on a daily basis to look for any performance issues, instability, etc. but without being able to save more quickly in the native format, this won't be feasible.
