Did you checked the md5sum before install ?
Did you try to repair/modify your OOo installation ?
I know that when you repair/modify the installation, I can choose the extensions
association again. Maybe your problem is just that.
Closing as works for me with OOo2.0.2rc3 WinXP SP2.
