The release candidates should do this automatically at least until final is immenent(?) If you think that regular users can do this you have another think coming about capabilities. If you wish to release in this manner, then post these instructions on the webpage. I think you will find that the very users you wish to have testing will balk and walk away. So in hte end what is this all about, it is about making the devel cycle reasonable for the average user.
