------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Feb 28 13:32:52 -0800 2006 ------- I've noticed recently that versions of OpenOffice running in Debian Sid and in Suse 10.0 no longer applying kerning to TrueType fonts. In other words, even with kerning activated under the Character dialog, no change in character position happens. The same problem seems to affect Scribus on both platforms. I've seen this problem with a variety of TrueType fonts, all of which kern correctly in older Linux Distributions (even Ubuntu Breezy is old enough). My guess is that it might be related to the recent change to Freetype 2.1.10 in both of these distributions, but I'm not really knowledgable enough to know how to prove that. I'm filing this bug here because it seems like the kind of thing you'd like to know about, and because you may know better than me how to verify the cause of this problem and what to do about it. As always, thanks for making a great product. Scott Thatcher P.S. I've also filed Debian Issue 351251 about this problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
