------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 1 10:23:39 -0800 2006 ------- Since there appears to be some activity on this issue, I wish to point out that, for my first Eclipse/Java project, I have created a program that reads an ODT file with embedded ODS objects which I have created and outputs a text file in the format I prefer. I do not claim that this will work with any arbitrary ODT/ODS file (I am quite certain it will not) or that the choices I made for formatting the text file are correct for general use; however, I would be willing to provide the (Java) source if there is any interest in it. I suspect, however, that those who work with OOo code do not need it. To be honest, having created this program, I don't see any pressing need for this issue to be fixed. For one thing, working on the program revealed how much effort might be required; for another, I have a solution that works fine for me. I would like to reiterate and expand on a prior conclusion: the most direct way to do this would be to add a new "Paste Special" option: text using spaces rather than tabs the current "Text" option could be renamed "Text (tabs)" and the new one "Text (spaces)". That, I suspect, would be sufficient: if the table columns are lined up with spaces, then export text should reproduce that spacing and that alignment. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
