I think OpenOffice.org Media Player *should* support at least most popular open
media formats, like OGG/Vorbis, FLAC (look at www.vorbis.com ) or OGG/Theora
(look at www.theora.org ) as default or at least show helpfull suggestions (in
Help or in warning dialog, when user tries to open not supported files) how to
get OpenOffice.org working with these audio/video file formats.

OGG support is still broken on OpenOffice.org (tested with 2.0.2RC4 for Linux):

1. Now there are no .ogg extension in OpenOffice.org Media Player's Open dialog
:(, so OGG/Vorbis audio or OGG/Theora video files user doesn't see as default :(

2. Windows Media Player supports not so many formats as default, but this is
solving by installing Directshow Filters for needed media formats. Open Source
(BSD licence) Directshow Filters for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora and FLAC
Audio/Video formats are available at http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/
Why don't include these filters in default openoffice package for windows ?

3. If on linux (and others) the Java Media Framework is used that supports by
itself a variety of formats and can be extended by plugins to support even more
formats, then why don't include support for OGG/Vorbis, FLAC or Theora
multimedia formats as default in default openoffice package for Linux?

4. User should get info (URL) where to get OGG/Vorbis, FLAC or Theora support if
they tries to open multimedia files, encoded in these formats, but now I get
only dumb message "The format of selected files is not supported" :(

I don't know if I should report 4 separate bugreports, or some of these 4 issues
belongs to this bugreport ?
