Open Office 2.0.1
Freezes when pasting from another file.

System: PC: Dell Dimension Pentium4 3GHz HT 512Mb RAM
        Windows XP SP2.

Spreadsheet:

        1. Using: Insert > Sheet from File and then starting to manipulate
the data;
Open Office froze.

The only thing I could do was to close Open Office and restart. The
recovery
process did nothing - restored up to last saved position – which was the same
as if when I cancelled the restore process.

My solution was to save immediately after the sheet was inserted. There
was
then no problem and I could carry on as normal.

2.Copying a selected area of data from a downloaded CSV file into an existing
spreadsheet .

Same result. My solution was to first to save the CSV file as filename.ods,
copy and paste from that file , save the amended existing spreadsheet then work
on the spreadsheet. Again no problem.

Wordprocesser:

        Inserting a picture from file.

Unless I saved the work immediately after the insertion Open Office
froze.

I've tried closing all other programmes – ant-virus, firewall etc , also turning
off Hyper Threading but the problem still occurs – difficult to say whether
there is any improvement at all – ie slightly longer before it froze.

Error reporting
I've tried sending an error report using the automated system, following the
recovery process – but I don't think that has worked – I'm on a dial up
connection – and there does not appear to be any transfer of data.

I searched to see if this error had already been reported but came up with
nothing – apologies if I missed it.

Regards
Jack
