so - this is some long dead bug. My ~/.recently-used contains both missing files
& totally broken URIs ;-) and I get no crash on start [ surely it's not touched
on start anyway ], and also no recently-used files problems.
So - closing FIXED.
The OO.o ver. in SL 9.3 is -really- old, and contains hundreds of known bugs,
it's best to test your problems vs. a newer version; please upgrade - preferably
to SL 10.0 or better 10.1 when it arrives.
Failing that there are [beta, unsupported etc.] 9.3 packages here:
http://red-carpet.go-oo.org/ooo-680/suse-93-i586/
but again that is old software.
