I did some further tests with results as following:
It es not necessary to do all those preparing steps from 'comments from
rainerbielefeld Thu Mar 9 00:08:48', you can leave away step 3.2 to 6.
You will also see that problem for several other line styles.
Line colour will be remembered, but Border Style seems to be lost (=none)
We had something similar in fixed issue 52047
