First, when I select "Create from file" and click "Search", I get an open dialog; when I go to "Files of type" to select something, I get an ENORMOUS list containing... nothing! I selected a pdf and inserted it; it showed up in HORRIBLE quality (it has some text and vector graphics, but looked like a zoomed bitmap thumbnail). Then I saved the document as odt and doc, and closed OOo. When I reopened the odt, it showed "Object 1" as before; the doc showed the pdf correctly (but in the same horrible quality).
