This problem occurs at both schools and on my home pc as well. 3 different places. There is a problem! Importing an mpg file of any size leads to an almost immediate crash and shutdown of Impress. Whether I use INSERT - OBJECT - VIDEO, or drag and drop, or copy and paste. The last time this issue was evaluated, it was tested on german and English XP versions. But we use Norwegian (Bokmål) under Win 2000 pro. I am doing my best to convince 2 schools of the value of going over to OpenOffice instead of Microsoft office. But this ongoing problem is making it very difficult. I would really value any help or advice.
