I strongly disagree with this and request for the issue to be reopened.
I know this will not be an argument you will particularly like, but Word can do
this, so it cannot be impossible. I will attach word documents as demonstration
in a bit. These were created by Word 2003. I will also attach a pdf of the Word
document for quick review.
Copy pasting OLE images does not solve this at all. When tables are inserted
within the text, everytime the text changes, OLE objects need to be edited by
hand so that the table still fits the page appropriatly.
As per the cost of this feature: I have no idea what the cost will be, sorry.
but it's definitely a show stopper while I'm writing my thesis. It is not nice
to give the advisor (who requires me to have these table within the text) a
thesis text where table borders are buggy and ill-formatted.
I am reopenning the issue, only hoping that you will re-think your decision.
Thanks.
