Get your candence guy back in and show him the problem :-).
If he needs to do anything special for cadence with LD_ASSUME_KERNEL and/or
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, he should keep his changes local to cadence, e.g. in some sort
of "launch-cadance" script, not globally in your environment where everything
gets affected :-(
k, this is not an OOo specific problem here IMO, but a customized user
environment one, something we really can't help with. Sort of "invalid" for OOo
