(Confirmed offline with jb that setofficelang.exe indeed needs to be a GUI app.)
As another workaround, there is guistdio.com in the OOo output tree (solver
wntmsci10.pro/bin/guistdio.com). Copy it into the same directory as
setofficelang.exe and rename the copy to setofficelang.com. Then starting
setofficelang.com from a shell will internally start setofficelang.exe and will
display all stdout/stderr output in the shell. Hope this helps.
