Sorry, the issue has been attached to the wrong component!
The error occurs in the "Impress processor", not the word processor.

step by step reproduction:

1.) open a new impress document
2.) press F11 ==> the formatting styles popup raises
3.) go to the "graphical object styles" tab (the left tab)
4.) choose any style and klick right mouse (new)
5.) modify the name for the new style to become e.g. "blue-red"
6.) klick ok
7.) save the document
8.) close impress (file->exit)
9.) open the file again
10.) press F11 and go to the "graphical object styles"
11.) The style previously named "blue-red" has been renamed to "red"
