Hi,
I have had a look on this old issue again.

This is not possible. The sub form show what the record in the master form is
displayed. So if you change the selection in the listbox nothing change in the
sub form. Only if you change the listbox _and_ save the record in the master
form _and_ reload the record the change is displayed.
The use case you describe is not possible with base yet.
So I think we can close this issue as INVALID
