If you set up an OpenLDAP server as described below, you only need to modify Server and BaseDN from the LDAP.xcu.sample. 2 Set up an OpenLDAP server (see <http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin23/quickstart.html>) using the attached UTF-8 encoded example.ldif, after exchanging all occurences of the strings "MY NAME" and "LOGIN" with your real name and login name, respectively. 3 Start soffice. If you start soffice for the first time, in the "Welcome" wizard on page "3. User name", "Last name" should already be filled in with "Umläut".
