But I can confirm that quick vertycally scrolling of an empty a4 spreadsheet
page causes much more processor load (45%) than scrolling an empty WRITER page
(15%).

How excactly do you scroll? Pushing scroll slider or ....
Any infouence whether auto spell check is disabled or enabled?
