Hi,
eg. in Times New Roman size 10 bold italic the character sequence "word" shows
irregular spacing between the r and d depending on the position of the char.
seq. on the line. This exhibits itself as a catching up of the r to the d
continuously when entering spaces in front of the char. seq. ("sleeping on
space
bar"). This can be avoided if the pixel distance between the characters is
rounded to an integral (whole) number before displaying them on screen, only
the
offset in the line (the beginning of a char. seq. (not counting spaces and
therelike)) is calculated based on the subpixel position, eg. position at pixel
40,253. Thus char. seq. will always look like at the beginning of a line
(assuming the beginning is at an integral pixel number eg. first character
starts at 0); the spacing between char. seq. (between words) will now vary
depending on the position of the char. seq. in the line.
