Let there be an option to cast a diffused shadow, as if caused by a diffused light source (such as a tubelight). The edge of the diffused shadow should be blurred, so that it gradually merges with the background. Provide a variable (spinner) control to change this diffusion distance from 0 to some maximum value. (This suggestion may belong to common framework actually.)
