------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Feb 15 08:05:33 -0800 2005 ------- Duplicated behavior. soffice.bin jumps to 100% CPU utilization after scrolling down in the document. This appears to be a document written in a foreign language, so not sure if that might affect the behavior in my installation. Steps used to duplicate: 1. Open Writer 2. Open the document provided at the URL above in Writer. 2a. Clicked "Yes" when prompted to update all links. 3. So far, so good - performance looks fine. 4. Scroll down a couple pages, click to put the cursor in a couple different places. 5. CPU utilization spikes to 100% for soffice.bin and stays there. Monitoring behavior in Task Manager shows that the application continues to generate page faults, but almost no I/O activity. 6. Left it there for approx 10 mins - CPU remained pegged at 100%. 7. Had to terminate the the application from Task Manager to close it out - unable to reach the menus within Writer. Additional information: 1. Launched OpenOffice again. 2. Was prompted to recover the document, clicked Yes. 3. A dialog box prompted to "Update all Links?" just as when the document was first opened. 4. Clicked No in response. 5. CPU Pegged at 100% again. So, apparently, just recovering this document starts the same process that caused the high CPU utiliziaton the first time. Please let me know if it would be helpful to open the document, let the CPU peg, forcefully terminate OpenOffice.org and then send a Crash Report. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
