The two cases are both useful in their own place. When combining and splitting documents, promotion and demotion of titles can be done easily with styles when the Font Effects specify the capitalisation. But to fix errors when the Caps Lock key was left on need permanent changes to the data. May I suggest that permament change functions should be under the Edit menu only.
