It is unusable, it does not work as expected. Once finally done, Open Office forgets the mail merge next time it is opened, just leaving text fields without possiblity to match them with the table which should be merged into document. I believe OO can't say its complete office package until mail merge is easy to use (or until it is as easy-to-use (but still clumsy) as in MS Office). Please, treat this as T1 priority and get some good UI designer, because what I see nowadays is UI that just sucks and is absolutely unusable even for me as power user and not thinking about regular Joe.
