I suspect what had happened was that I had filed issue 44213 while running FC3 and then configured yum to not update the channel once I realized that their build wasn't acting as I had expected (and not noticing that if I had simply clicked "OK" it would have). I had excluded the openoffice updates in the yum.conf file and installed the one off the site instead. Upgrading to FC4 kept things intact but the upgrade to FC5 last week must have undone that. (Or I had noticed the replacement in FC4 but not this time..) Well, it works..
