------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Feb 16 07:52:14 -0800 2005 ------- I was layout out a newsletter (text document) including images using OOo 1.1.1 on Windows XP Pro with SP1. I started out by opening an old document named Vol6-1.sxw. I immediately saved it under the new name Vol7-1.sxw then began to work on it. I was experiencing random crashes, but that is not the purpose of this report since I cannot reliably reproduce them. The problem is that even though I had been saving the document Vol7-1 regularly, after a crash, I found that the saved document Vol7-1 was identical to the original Vol6-1, meaning all my changes were lost. First I thought I must've saved it somewhere else, but that can't be possible, because only did a save-as once, so it can only be in one place. The timestamp on the Vol7-1 is around the time that I originally did the save- as, before I started making changes. So it's as if I had never saved again after that point... but in fact I did, several times. I saw the progress bar go from left to right and no errors were reported. I had no reason to believe it wasn't saving. So either clicking "Save" somehow saved it someplace other than the current location and I just haven't found it, or clicking "Save" doesn't actually save at the time it is requested, but rather waits until the document is closed or something, and that never happened because of the crash. In a nutshell, clicking "Save" should save the current document in its last saved location or prompt for a location/name if it has not been saved yet. This did not happen. I realize I'm using an old version - my next step will be to upgrade, but I wanted to report this since it's a critical problem and it should be verified that this cannot happen in current versions. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
