Here are some ideas to improve Calc. I'm often using "Auto Filter" function to manage huge listings of people. But, here are some differences and "bugs" compared to Excel functions : - The most insignificant is that we have to select the lines to apply on the "auto filter" (in Excel, it automaticaly apply the filter to all lines existing above). But, when we add some lines of data, we have to do once again the selection of all the lines for the "auto filter" to include the new lines (in Excel, it's automatic, and no waste of time). Is it possible to add on option on "Auto Filter" to select all the lines above the one selected ? (as in excel) - When a selection is done (filtered), I often want to change some information. Example, the filter is put on "Fr" on a column, and the line 5,7,9 and 13 are displayed. If I want to change "Fr" to "France", I'm used to change the first cell manually (line 5), then drag and drop the cell "France" to other displayed cell which contain "Fr"...and here is the problem. If I start the drag from line 5, it will make the changes on the lines 7,9 and 13 whiwh are displayed...but also to the line 6,8,10,11 and 12 which are hidden (filtered) ! Is it possible (as Excel do) to limit the changes only on the displayed lines ? - Another enhancement concerns the "find and replace" function. I want to change all the cell containing "Fr" by "France" only in the column A. So I select this column, launch the "find and replace" function and put "Fr" in find, and "France" in replace...but, it applies the changes in all the spreasheet, and not only in the selected column. Is it possible (as excel do) to limit the action of this function in the only column, or line, selected ? Despite these little "bugs", I'm impressed by all the functions available in the OOo Suite...and would like to thank all the developpers for this great Office suite ! Have a nice week end.
