As sba has written: We have made not even hundreds but thousends of
installations and startups. We have never seen such a behaviour. Do you have the
required write access the user data
(UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/StarOffice8, usually in '<drive>:\Documents and
Settings\<user name>\Application Data\')? Otherwise remove this OOo folder and
try with a restart of OOo.
