I think PDF export should work in WYSIWYG manier - if a user chooses some e.g.
Times font, then Times should be in PDF, if user chooses Helvetica - then
Helvetica. If one font property - font's size is exported to the PDF file, then
why another font property - family name is always changed to Helvetica ?

If it's not possible to get this simple solution into 2.0, then we should use
any other solution, which works with the majority of international characters,
e.g. Lithuanian or Russian, not only iso8859-1.
At least we can make a checkbox "use system font for form fields" in "Export to
PDF" dialog window.
On the other case there would be problems when pushing OpenOffice.org to public
sector, e.g. there is a Project on Open Standards in Local Authorities in
Lithuania and Latvia (see http://europa.eu.int/idabc/en/document/3802/469 ) and
we plan to suggest to install at least one copy of OOo in every governmental and
public institution in order to publish the information in open formats (e. g.
PDF, because majority of users can read PDF and fill PDF forms without buying
any software).
Currently most documents in Lithuanian governmental institutions are published
in MS Office formats partly because it is necessary to buy aditional expensive
software for publishing in wide spread open format - PDF and PDF forms.
OOo 2.0 could replace expensive Adobe Acrobat for generating PDF forms but only
if there would be an ability to enter Lithuanian characters
(iso8859-13/Windows-1257 encoding).
