Packaging OOo for Mac OSX To list

Introduction :

On Mac OSX,final packages build with EPM are directories with .pkg extension.
They must be archived (in both .zip or .tar.gz )to be downloaded.

Here, they directly are used to constitute a metapackage = association of some
packages. These metapackage is build with packagemaker. Our purpose is to
produce an installer for the precedent metapackage. We need to produce a
complete process, including a .app file, as a launcher for OpenOffice.org.

Important :

These issue will be closed when a considered correct installer for every project
exist.
(every project means : cz project, fr project, de project for the begining)

Objectives :

Actually, delays for icons propositions :

-> until 22 februar 2005  00h00 for fr project

[FIXME]->  ???? others

First try with existing versions or with beta (if possible)

[FIXME] deadline

TODO

1) write some documentation/description of what /how / who we are

cz project : Filip Molcan
fr project : Eric Bachard
de project : Eric Hoch , Florian Heckl
other projects : ?
These documentations coul'd be given to relative projects (de, fr, cz) of the
community.

2) the tools we use for this

[FIXME] A more complete list of what is used for what

2.1) build the metapackage

Tool used :

build of the metapackage : packagemaker

todo : write a documentation "howto create a metapackage : requirements,
process"

Related issue :

2.2) the installer :

2.2.1) already existing

For now I have only two solutions :

[FIXME] Terry Teague's installer : not found ? Someone knows the exact URL ?

Kevin Hendriks issue for installer build :
<http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=32748>

The second is interessant, because no changes are necessary for Mac USers for
the installation, and we just have to change the icon to have a new one :-)

[FIXME] : bug of non admin users.... (!!!! )

How it works :

we use an issue for the installer (the application) :

Issue for the installer :

Everything about the installer : propositions, localizations files archives have
to be attached to this issue

[FIXME] 3) The upload : (who, what, how, where )To be completed

3) ) the todo-list I'll propose is a calc file containing the following fields,
under this form :

status/ group / action / necessary or optionnal / estimated date / who

URL of todo -list : <http://eric.bachard.free.fr/mac/install_2.0/>
[FIXME] upload the good file ;-)

How it works :

- One tab per project
- every project send me the changes
- me (ericb) will update on my website

For the record, when the issue will be closed, I'll attach the final document
to it.

[FIXME] : feel free to help me for changes/improvements

Regards,
eric bachard
